Count how many times is the polygon as large as the square.
The picture above is 1 of the polygon I formed. Would you be able to find out the number of squares that formed this polygon?
After some discussions, we found out that we could use the counting method ( 1 dot to 1 dot counted as 1 side, use the total number of sides to divide it by 2 to get the area. This method would work as long as there is 1 dot within the area of the shape).
Thats right!
11 divided by 2 you would get 5.5
Thus, there were 5 and a half squares in this polygon.
